Invocation text Let us take this first minute to feel
all around the world the circle of love for Nancy in us. The circle holds our love of her, which is her body now. Nancy, we know you are with us. And it was always your work, your play, your adventure to expand the sphere of what we're aware of, and now, in your passing, the sphere just gets bigger, including embracing the non-physical with the physical, the emotions of our hearts with the sensations of your presence on all those subtle levels. You were famous, Dear, for your daring, for your trust in your own instincts, in your partner, in the forces of nature. On so many levels what we all practiced with you were different kinds of that trust- all the trust it takes to say something when you're not even quite sure what you're saying, or to do something when you don't know where it's coming from-- with your famous, beautiful quote-- When you are somewhere you don't know where you are, it is one of the most precious places improvisation can take you, for that is the place with the most possible directions... If the world ever needed such wisdom, it is needs it now. So as we convene this circle let us expand our trust to trust that you are here with us. |
